Moisturiser 101: Choosing a Texture That Feels Right

Moisturisers come in light lotions, richer creams, and ointment-like balms. A lighter texture may feel comfortable in warm weather or on oilier areas; a richer formula may suit dry patches or colder conditions. Apply after washing while skin is slightly damp, and adjust the amount to your comfort.

Look at the full ingredient list if you know you react to particular ingredients. “Natural” does not automatically mean irritation-free, and fragrance can bother some people. Try a new formula cautiously and stop if you develop a persistent reaction.
